The Lincoln Conservation
District is currently working with Lincoln County Department of
Environmental Health, county officials and Recycle Eureka to implement
a pilot recycling program. In 2009 the District received a $10,300.00
grant from the Montana Department of Natural Resource Management
to provide financial assistance to purchase recycling trailers,
equipment and educational materials to increase public awareness
to promote recycling ande waste reduction Lincoln County.

On November 7, 2009 a ribbon
cutting ceremony was held at the recycling center in Eureka. The
facility is named in honor of Carol Tapp.

In January 2010 two (2) recycling
trailers were delivered to the North Lincoln County Annex. These
trailers have bins available to receive aluminum, steel cans, paper,
newsprint and plastics #1 and #2. Stein's Family Market in Eureka
currently accepts cardboard for recycling. The county will provide
the necessary staff to maintain the drop-off locations and equipment
to transport the recyclables to the recycling facilities.
Recycling trailers for Libby
and Troy are in the process of being ordered for placement. Lincoln
County Department of Environmental Health officials have applied
for a Montana Department of Environmental Quality Recycling Infrastructure
Grant to help defray the cost of the recycling trailers.

recycling program, please call the Environmental Health Department
